『Jigoku Shoujo anime series soundtracks』
(NOTE: This review is for THE COMPLETE COLLECTION of ALL SIX Jigoku Shoujo CDs.) I purchased all six soundtracks for Jigoku Shoujo including OSTs I and II, Futakomori OSTs I and II, and Mitsuganae ?Nikushoku? and ?Soushoku?. Composers Yasuharu Takanashi and Hiromi Mizutani (and with Kenji Fujisawa on Mitsuganae ?Soushoku?), blend modern electronic and synthesized music together with more traditional instruments in very dramatic and ethereal combinations. Several key themes repeat; but they are continually freshened by using various styles and percussive instruments. Punctuating the instrumentals are several beautiful yet haunting vocals by Noto Mamiko and Asami Noto. Combined together, the six CDs in the series total 151 tracks and more than five hours of wonderful music--an outstanding collection of musical talent.
